David Tiwha Obituary

BENNETT, Monsignor David Michael Tiwha. Pastor Emeritus of St Peter- Cambridge, St Mary-Rotorua, Cathedral-Hamilton. Police Chaplain for many years. Vicar General and Prelate of the Papal Household. Died peacefully at Resthaven on Burns, Cambridge, February 4, 2025 in his 82nd year. Dearly loved son of the late Samuel and Wikitoria Bennett, loved stepson of Octavia (nee Waters), loved brother of Gary Sloan, cherished uncle to his niece and nephew. Devoted cousin of Rawinia McCallum Requiem Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Grey Street, Hamilton East (entrance off Beale St) at 12pm on Friday 7th February. Miha Tangihanga will be celebrated at St Mary's Church, 110 Ranolf Street, Rotorua Saturday 8th February 11am. Interment at his family urupa - Kauae Cemetery, Ngongotaha at 2pm. May he rest in peace.
