CHAMBERS, Michael Vincent Andrew. On 23 August 2023, peacefully at Tauranga Hospital, aged 68 years. Husband and best friend of Andrea, beautiful and kind dad of Colm Benedict and Shaunagh Niamh. Loved son of Ramon (Raymond) and Mary Jane (Jean) Chambers, and son-in-law of Loui and Ann Rossi, and brother of Kevin Chambers. Michael was a podiatrist with Bay Podiatry. A Requiem Mass for Michael will be held at St Mary Immaculate Church, corner Cameron Road and Elizabeth Street Tauranga, on Thursday 7 September at 11am, followed by private cremation. How I have appreciated Micheals work and great chatter over the years at his clinics in Te Puke. Today is the 26th Sep, my appointment day. So I have just found out he is no longer with us.

I knew Michael at Ushaw College in Durham. I remember his great sense of humour, humility, raucous tales from his days in the police, and trips across the fields to the local pubs. I lost contact after his ordination and after I left Ushaw for a different life. I am very sad to hear he has died but grateful to have known him. Condolences to his family. May he rest in peace and his memory endure.
