Michael AUSTIN Obituary

AUSTIN, Michael Damien. On 6th March 2025, He was born 4 December 1950 and passed quietly and gently into peace at home. He was the beloved son of Frank and Pauline (Late) of Whangaparaoa. He will be sorely missed in our community. Little Brother of Geoff, Paul (Late) and Christine Norris; Big brother of Basil (Late) and Catherine Austin. Michael was a gentle soul with a great love of God and people. Michael is remembered fondly by his nieces and nephews. The Celebration of his life is to be held at St Francis by the Sea Catholic Church, at 11am Wednesday 12th March 2025.

Michael and I grew up together in Henderson being altar boys and school mates. From 1993-97 I was (his) Parish Priest at St Francis. In the midst of all his health struggles Michael never ceased to put his faith and trust in God, attended Mass on Fridays and Sundays and gave friendship as best he could. May his soul rest in peace. My prayerful sympathy to you all. I regret my own health prevents me from attending his Requiem.
