Very sad to learn of Mervs passing. I enjoyed working with Merv at Telephone Services in the 70's. His friendly, cheerful nature and humour made him very popular.
I remember him turning up for our soccer games in his flash MK1 3L Capri. He ran in our round the bays team. And he beat me in our work table tennis final - which he liked to remind me of.
I'm grateful to him for teaching me to play squash, even though he ran me ragged. We played tennis and water skied. Merv was an enthusiastic sportsman.
I'm pleased to have met Daphne and Colin in the past and give to them and all his family my heart felt sympathy. Merv will be sorely missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Merv for a number of years at Colgate Palmolive where I was Northern Area Manager. He was a valuable member of our sales team and got on very well with our sales team and customers alike. I fondly remember his cheeky smile and laugh. Always a loyal friend to his team members. I will always remember you as a positive and outgoing person Merv. You were a pleasure to work with.

Merv, losing a sibling is a traumatic and very sad time, because of the close bond we had as we grew up togerther. We have had a life long frienship. The bond between us was almost unbreakable, till now. Rest in peace, brother. The world won't be the same without you in it. You will always live in my heart. Col

Mate always enjoyed your company and the many jokes we used to share. Always looked forward to you coming to visit me up north and then later when I moved to Taupo.
Cheers Gerrard

So sorry to hear Merv is no longer with us. He was a great boss for several years and a great friend for 30 odd years. We had many happy times and he will never be forgotten. He had many a happy weekend and odd days off with us and became close friends with Kerry also. He always signed his calls, texts and messages with "Luv always Merv xxoo" so now its my turn "Luv always Dale and Kerryxxoo. Thinking of you all.
