Mereaina KIRKWOOD Obituary

KIRKWOOD, Mereaina Noreen (nee Pirikahu). Died 15 April 2018, aged 86, at Taranaki Base Hospital. Loved wife of Don Rori Te Waireihi Kirkwood (deceased). Mum to fourteen children. Most treasured and loved Nana to three generations of mokopuna. Nana, you are the strongest woman we know. You taught and gave each one of us memories that we will all cherish for the rest of our time. Till we meet you and Papa again. Moe moe ra. Love you from the bottom of our hearts, the Kirkwood, Duncan, Wheatley, Potaka, Tumata, Tuhura, Pouwhare, Holden, Rapana, Hawe and Tukerangi whanau. Service will be held at Kairau Marae Waitara today Thursday 19th April at 11am.

KIRKWOOD, Mereaina Noreen. Nana, as young kids we spent our holidays at Mangatangi with you and Papa. You took us to the creek, pools, camping and as teenagers you let us loose on road runner. As adults your hot bread was truly expectional but it really doesn't compare to not being able to see or hear you again. We will all miss you so much Nana. With much love your mokopuna George, John, Janelle, Kape, DJ, our families and our parents Janet and George Wheatley.
