Maurits Huiber van de Geer Obituary

van de GEER, Maurits Gerard Huibert (Maurice). On February 15th 2018 after a long and courageous journey with cancer, at Wesley Care surrounded by his loving family, aged 79 years. Dearly loved husband of Jill, much loved father and father-in-law of Sonya and Peter, Chris and Kirsty and Karen and John. Adored Opa of Alisha, Nelleke, Jayden and Lief. Loved son of the late Bill and Helen van de Geer, much loved brother and brother-in-law of Nelleke and Rod Moffat and loved uncle of Sarah and Debbie. The family wishes to express thanks to all who have so wonderfully cared for Maurice over the past eight years: All the wonderful staff at Wesley Care, Chris Atkinson and the staff at St Georges Cancer Care, Simon Dodge and Robyn Hay. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Christchurch Methodist Mission in memory of Maurice would be appreciated and may be made at the service or directly to CMM, PO Box 5416, Christchurch, 8542. Messages for the family of the late Maurice van de Geer c/- 19 London Street, Richmond, Christchurch 8013. A service for Maurice will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 28 Bealey Avenue, on Saturday February 24 at 1pm, with a cremation to follow at 4pm at the Canterbury Crematorium Chapel, Corner Keighleys Road and Linwood Avenue.
