Memories of a very kind and welcoming Dad of my friend Clare in Tirau Primary School Days and later in Clevedon. Warm thoughts of a life well lived.

Uncle Maurie was such a gentleman, he always approached life with an earnestness and a cheek I will miss hugely. His epic wit always kept us on our toes! He has left the world in a better way for his time and energy expended. I considered you my Uncle and did so with such pride.

During the last few days I have been remembering Maurie with fondness. His good humour was always evident when we met for a meal at the Trots. Often his jokes involved a man at the doctors faced with a good news, bad news choice. It was always the bad news first. Inevitably the good news was even worse. I will remember Marie's infectious chuckle always drawing me in.
