I got to know Maurice as my friend Bernard`s brother in law. For me he was an incredible open, friendly and joyful person who loved to share his stories and views on the world and life itself.
I will always remember him especially as a lover of art, because I had the joy that he showed me most of the lovely pieces of art in his house and told me stories about their origin. Though I did not spend very much time with him since I´m just an oversea visitor from Germany every now and then, it is obvious to me, that he was a real family guy and he was so proud of his large family.
I´m sure it meant a lot to him that he left us while he was surrounded by the people that meant the most to him: his lovingly caring wife and his large family.
My deepest sympathies go out to all of you.
I´m glad I had the pleasure of meeting him and his open laugh will ring in my ears for ever.

At the time of Maurice's death I was overseas, and with the deepest regret was not able to attend the funeral.
My comments here are personal, but undoubtedly reflect the views of those at the Roman College we both attended, endearingly known as the "familglia propagandistica".
Maurice was highly esteemed and respected for his natural leadership qualities. His perceptive intuition prompted him to pursue alternative solutions to problematic situations, which in turn created a plethora of viable possibilities.
In great respect to his memory, and as comfort to his family, this class of 1966 salutes him with deep love and affection.

I am deeply saddened to hear Maurice has passed away. He touched so many lives and I am so grateful I got the chance to know him beginning with the Daly family reunions over the years with my mother Josephine (Jo) Morris nee Daly. Maurice was a very special and caring man and will be so sadly missed by all who knew him. My deepest sympathy and condolences to Anne-Marie and family during this difficult time.

I was very sad to learn Maurice has passed away. I have pleasant memories of him as a very capable and also supportive colleague during my years working in Vocational Guidance at the Department of Labour. I know I´m one of many of his former colleagues who liked and respected him very much for his warmth, his lively good humour and his many other personal qualities as well as his numerous accomplishments during his life. I admire how good he was at maintaining contact with so many people over his lifetime. To Anne-Marie and your family, please accept my condolences. You will be missing him I know. You have my deepest sympathy.
