Maureena HOLLAND Obituary

My good friend Maureena was one of the most inspiring, positive and uplifting people that I have known. Our friendship of over 52 years, began the day I started my first job, at the Commercial Union Assurance, in Chancery Lane, Auckland. I also worked with Maureena at Lombard Insurance. She was funny, informative, always put out a positive spin to life, which I justed adored her for. I can only remember once that I disappointed her and she told me off, for not keeping a prearranged Lunch appointment, with another old work colleague. All though I left New Zealand to live overseas many years ago, on my frequent visits back here, I'd try to visit her on most occasions, or at least phone her. She was very old school correct in lots of little things with life, which in this world have now faded. She loved Christmas cards and letter writing, a few letters from her I still keep from the mid-1970's. Maureena's passing has left a huge void in my life now, I am going to miss our conversations and the pass reflections on life, that we had. Love you Maureena, always have, always will. Conn.xxx

Such an incredibly interesting person who lived a full life . We will miss visiting her for a chat and lunch in her beloved St Heliers Bay.
Maureena will be remembered by Nereid & Richard for her style , sense of humour and sharp mind.

Dearly loved cousin of Peter and Mary Lewis, Annthea and Robert Lewis, all of Melbourne. So pleased we visited Maureena in June, this year, she was as feisty and funny as she had always been through her long and valued life. We will miss her. Rest in peace.

I'm sorry to hear that Maureena May Holland died on 23rd September 2024 at 92 years old. She was a true friend to me when she worked for Rothbury Brokers Branch. I will really miss her smiling face and the chats we use to have. She was always full of life and loved life to the full. Till we meet again Maureena. Already miss you my friend.
