Matthew MITCHELL Obituary

I first met Matt in Oz in the early `90s. Over the next decade our paths crossed at various international regattas, where I was a spectator. I´ll never forget Matt´s beautiful smile and his love for Andrea, both of which were on full display at their wedding. My heart goes out to you Andrea, your boys, family and friends of Matt xxx

Lost touch when Mat left 4 Aust.

I knew Matt as a 4 year old, playing in my boat shed
In the cockpit of my Alan Wright tracker on the HBC
And as a young man sailing on my Townson 39
And followed his career thru the Americas cup to the Starling building.
At 4 years old he displayed the same energy and enthusiasm as he did a man.
He will live forever in memories. Condolences to all family.

I first met Matty in 2018 through another close friend.
We developed an awesome friendship and shared some absolutely amazing times together .
This, sadly is the closing of a very special chapter in mine and many others lives who had a close bond with Matty.
Not only was he great fun to be around, but he was an inspiration to do well in life.
He will be missed tremendously.
