Mata UTUMAPU Obituary

UTUMAPU, Mata (nee Savea). Born 14 October 1934, at Levi Saleimoa, Samoa. Passed away peacefully on 19 July 2024, aged 89. Daughter of the late Savea Lia and Tai Fuialo. Sister and sister-in-law of the late Savea Safatauafoi and Poufa, Tafa and Moefili Fa'alogo, Gagagaaupo Foe and Pua. In loving memory of our special Mum, who dedicated her life to raising her family, serving her extended family and church community. Mum you were 'the poutu', matriarch of our family, the organiser and perfectionist, who made things happen. Be at peace, now you are reunited with Dad again. Beloved wife of the late Peseta Se'u and cherished mother and mother-in-law of the late Falefa Ene and Nive Uoka, Susana, Tafili and Tim McBride, Alasi and Isaac Key, and Perive. Sadly, missed Nana of Anamaria and Giovanni, Benjamin, Kalsey and El-Shadai, Joshua and Denzel, Charlotte Tafili and Lily Mata McBride. Much loved Aunty of Leiloa Matthews, Savea Timoteo Lia, Leau Seme, Mara Lia, and Pou Tuli. Dear cousin of Talalelei Belford. Mum's funeral service will be held at the Samoan Christian Congregational Church, 2-6 Calgary Street, Sandringham at 10am on Wednesday 24 July.
