Mary WOOD Obituary

WOOD, Mary Helen (née Nielsen). Passed away after a short illness on 16th May 2024, aged 73 at Wellington Hospital. Daughter of the late Jim and Margaret Nielsen, Makara. Mother and grandmother of Janet Allen and Gabriel (Australia). Dearly loved sister and sister-in-law of Christine and Pat, Shelly and Brent, Sheila and John, Thomas and Leanne, and James. Aunt of Yvonne, Alana, Shannon, and Alexander. Many thanks to the dedicated staff at Wellington Hospital. A private service followed by a celebration of Mary's life will be at 4:00pm on Wednesday, 22nd May. Email Sheila for details [email protected].

Oh Mary we are so sad that you have left us too soon and we are in shock of how fast the process was. Going to miss our talks on the phone and staying with you and popping in on our way to Whiritoa. Was looking forward to seeing you more once we were living in the BOP. Will miss your humour and bossiness. Thank you to your sisters for showing great care over that time.
