When someone we love passes on beyond life in the world that we know and is gone, A beautiful sense of their presence, like music remembered by heart, lingers on... I was deeply saddened to hear of your passing after the event.
I achieved an A in School Cert because of your mentoring. Never got the chance to tell you that I was only two papers short of a double Degree, majoring in both education and english at Waikato. I only achieved the ed degree in the end, but I know you would have been proud, because it was merely a reflection of the knowledge, skills, but most of all the passion for good literature that you yoiurself possessed and handed to those willing to listen.
Not making myself out to be an angel - You never ever caught me smoking or did you?? - not even on the day of our S.C exam when Herewini and I were in a toilet cubicle smoking and you came in. Good times , Mrs Walker.

I have heaps of memory of you, Nana, from when I was 2 and half years old. I've been with you when you were driving to the shops, schools, old school (Maraenui school in Te Kaha), church, some trips to Otaki, Taupo, Rotorua, Palmerston North, Wellington, Auckland, Tauranga, Opotiki, Whakatane and of course around Te Kaha :) . Life won't be the same without Nana. I'll miss your smile. Michael and I love you Nana xx
