Mary PEACOCK Obituary

PEACOCK, Sister Mary Chanel R S M (Marion). Died peacefully on 1 August, 2012; aged 91 years. Dearly loved and respected member of Nga Whaea Atawhai o Aotearoa, Sisters of Mercy New Zealand, in her 71st year of Profession. Dearly loved daughter of the late Winifred and Charles Peacock. Beloved sister of Kathleen (Sandford), and aunt of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. May she Rest in Peace. Funeral details in tomorrows Herald.

As a child in a new immigrant family arriving at the Home of the Good Sheherd in 1949, Sister Peter (as she was known to us then) became a sort of guardian angel. What a genuine wonderful person. I am filled with a strange sadness on hearing of her passing. May she rest in peace.
