I remember Maureen when she left Coralstown to become a nun. She was one of a great family the O Briens who lived next door to tbe church of St Agnes. My deepest sympathy to Dick, Nancy, Peggy, Pauline and Fr Sean and extended O Brien . May her soul rest in peace.

My condolences to Maureen's adopted family in New Zealand as well as the O'Brien and Gaffney families in Ireland. My cherished memories of Maureen go back to our teenage years. She spent many summer holidays on the farm with us. She loved Aunt Nell and Uncle Tom. She shared ghost stories at night and enjoyed our daily farm life. She was humble and fun loving.Maureen is in our thoughts and prayers.

When Maureen stayed with us on her last visit to Ireland we remember her as a gentle, kind, good-humoured, good-natured and thoughtful person. She was very sociable and loved a good laugh. I greatly enjoyed driving her to visit former school friends and neighbours because they were times of fun and laughter. She was sensitive and very considerate of the feelings of others. She never wanted to be a burden on anybody and was very grateful for whatever little she received. She always gave more than she received. She loved children. Of course she had a very deep Faith; she trusted everything to God. She lived her life as she believed God wanted her to live it and never complained. She loved Coralstown where she spent most of her childhood and told me how much it meant to her to be able to walk the roads that she had walked as a child and pray in the church next door to the family home. You knew when you were with her that you were in the company of a very good Christian person; she only had praise for everybody. She was a lovable person and I will always have treasured memories of her. I'm sure she is with God.
