Very sad to learn of Mary´s passing.
Mary befriended me, a recently arrived country bumpkin from South Taranaki, when we worked together as proofreaders at the Auckland Star in Shortland St. early 1963.
Caring Mary took me under her wing and introduced me to many, including my future husband to be Bruce Casey.
Last time we connected she said Kevin was the best, and how lucky she was to have a loving family. Unfortunately unable to attend service, but sending condolences and thoughts to all the family. Colleen Casey

Heya Mum,
Well..., it's certainly been a long journey indeed.
Many a sneaky sip of an errant glass of Pinot Noir snuck from an admirable suitably short sighted participant , Son ,Tegan...
or an unobservant Kevin
A Longer match than most Wimbledon finals !....finishing at 3am on a Monday Morning
You are my inspiration in art and creation, my mentor in balance, honesty and Honour, my entrepreneurial direction...and foremostly My Mum.
Eternally I will be forever grateful, for the gifts you have provided.
I will always be Humbled by you, eternally.
My Mum, My Angel.
And to quote you Mary May "Sometimes....Mother Knows Best "
Loving You Eternally, Infinitely,
Donovan
