Mary Luther Obituary

Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" (Farrell) Luther, 74, of Ligonier, where she lived her entire life, died peacefully Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, with her loving family at her side. She was born April 13, 1936, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Riggs Farrell. Betsy graduated from Ligonier Valley High School in 1954. She worked for 33 years with Mellon Bank. She also worked at the Ligonier Theatre and the Ligonier Library. She was the beloved mother to daughter, Tami Jameson and her husband, Paul, and son, Johnnie Luther; five grandchildren, Allyson Mahon, Sean Jameson, Alex Jameson, Dimitri Jameson and Johnnie Luther; three great-grandchildren, Riley Mahon, Seamus Mahon and Madeline Mahon; and a brother, William "Bud" Farrell. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC., Bell and East Church streets, Ligonier. A service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the Ligonier Valley Cemetery. Interment will follow in Ligonier Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ligonier Valley Library.
