Mary Leeder Obituary

Mary Laura Leeder, 87, a longtime resident of Skaneateles, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at University Hospital in Syracuse. A native of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Mary was the daughter of William F. S. Coppen and Myrtle (Sanger) Coppen. She married Harry A. Leeder, Jr. of Syracuse in 1957, and the couple moved to Skaneateles in 1958. Local residents may recall Mary from her time as office manager at the Skaneateles Press, and friends remember her love of gardening.

Mary is survived by her sister, Eleanor L. Petrie of Albuquerque, NM; children, Abigail Leeder Kennedy of Brockport, NY, Gregory K. Leeder of Saline, MI, and Christopher A. Leeder of Ann Arbor, MI; nephew, Robert Coppen of Sauquoit, NY; and nieces, Gail Caiola of Frankfort, NY and Elen Freelander of Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her brother, William L. Coppen of Sauquoit, NY.

Her family will receive friends on Sunday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Robert Gray Funeral Home in Skaneateles.
