Mary HEWETSON Obituary
HEWETSON, Mary Grace (nee McNeilage). Passed away peacefully at North Shore Hospital on 2nd January 2021, aged 93. Loved daughter of the late Alexander Archibald and the late Mary Grace McNeilage. Sister to the late Ian Alexander McNeilage and the late Nancy Jane Edmonds; Beloved Wife of the late Sydney Deane Hewetson, Mother-in-Law to Alan and Elva; Grandmother to Craig, Tony and Sarah, Great Grandmother to Jaya, Taine, Sonja, Kai, Paige and Van; Adored Aunty to Janet, Catherine, Lionel, Sally, Lisa Edmonds and Piet van Leirop. Great Aunt to Rhozie, Brodie, Jannine, Jared, Adam, Erica, Maxim, Leo, Kyle, Alec and Callum, Great Great Aunt to Madison, Mack and Ellanorè. A very special thanks to the caring staff and close friends at Northbridge Retirement Village for their love and companionship. Thanks to the ambulance responders and hospital staff at North Shore Hospital for their attentiveness. A service to celebrate Mary's life will be held at The All Souls Chapel, Purewa Cemetery, 100/102 Saint Johns Road, Meadowbank, Auckland on Thursday 7th January at 1:00 pm.

I will always remember how you hosted a special celebration for my mother and father, Edna and Keith, in April 1997. And your independence and spirit. You were often very kind and thoughtful towards me and Allan, and in my grief when he died. May the wind be always at your back and the sun shine warm upon your face. ..
