Many happy memories of a fun friend at Teachers College way back and a few reunions since. Her sense of humour and interest in people made every occasion special.

Farewell Mary. I am so pleased that I was able to go to the Hamilton Teachers College reunion in 2010 even though I have now lived in Australia for the last 26 years. I was able to catch up with the people from Section I who were there including having a great chat with Mary as my husband also comes from Te Awamutu. God bless you Mary. Friends since 1961 when we enjoyed the sixties style cafe scene after lectures to a final recent now memorable dinner together in Auckland 15 July 2012.
Mary was full of enthusiasm, enjoying her counselling work and anticipating further travel adventures.
As a mother, Mary was rightfully proud of Deidre and Julian and their achievements.
As a friend, Mary will be sadly missed.
Sincere condolences to Deidre, Julian and family.

Mary, you have impacted many lives through the telephone counsellors you trained at Lifeline. Your passion and care for people was awesome. Thanks for supporting me in my own quest to become a counsellor, your words of encouragement were always an inspiration to me.

On reading the obituary here in Belgium(where Cécile & I have been living now for 11 years) my thoughts go back to dear Mary at our HTC days, to going to her home in Te Awamutu in the early 60's, and to visiting her in London on our OE! We caught up, nearly 45 years later, via the WWWWnet! Sincerest condoleances to Mary's family whom she had told me all about a couple of years ago: you will cetainly miss her!
