I had a fair bit to do with Martin: he painted the cottage that Hilary & I moved into on the farm at Waitahora, and did work for my father as well. The quality of his work was never questioned. I then joined Martin as a referee and as a member of the Horney Derelicts Golden Oldies Rugby team. Martin was always cheery, with a quick wit, and generous with his time and skills. I know that the family will miss him, and Hilary joins with me in sending you all our love
