Mark JENKINS Obituary

Just found out yesterday that Mark had passed. I went up to his boat on Lake Rotoiti for a chat and was surprised he wasn't on board, although I should've worked that out when I hadn't heard the music pumping when the boat went past us earlier in the day. Absolutely gutted to hear the news. Not only a great fishermen but a great guy and always fun to chat with, usually about fishing! I learnt lots from our chats over the years - originally in the good ol days of huge tuna out of Whakatane and more recently on the lake. He was generous and always happy to help people out. Will really miss seeing him out on the lake. He turned that ugly little green boat into a fishing and partying institution! Still the only guy I've talked to on a lake about the fish biting when the tide comes in - knowledge on a different level. Rest in Peace Mark.

So sad to find out today that mark has died, will never forget the many great times fishing with mark, he fixed my car for me without charge, took me fishing on his boat to learn the art of jigging, Rest In Peace my friend.
