Very sad to hear of Mark´s passing. Sincere kind thoughts to Michelle and his kids. When I think of Mark I smile. He had a huge impact on my career particularly during his time with Stevenson Group for which I will always be grateful. Loved watching the AB´s play the Wallabies with Mark, Michelle and my daughter at Eden Park His passion for his family, business and sport were infectious. Safe travels Mark.

I am deeply sorry for the loss of Mark. My wife and I talk fondly of the days we babysat for his young kids in Hamilton, New Zealand. And of the days after work when we would go play golf or basketball or anything which Mark was always good at. Mark was my mentor and helped my consulting business in Australia when he was CEO at Orion Energy in Newcastle. Mark was always going to be a business star! He was the most natural leader I have ever seen and a great listener with sincere empathy for whoever was in front of him. Mark was born with more talents than most could even dream of, he will be dearly missed by Michelle, their children and all who were lucky enough to have known him.

FRANKLIN, Mark. Kua hinga he totara i te wao nui a Tane. A totara has fallen in the forest of Tane. Tataki Auckland Unlimited is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our Chair Mark Franklin. Mark's passion for people, for Auckland and for the work we do was an inspiration. His mana and presence provided the confidence to all around him to make big decisions and see them through. Mark will be greatly missed, but the legacy of his leadership lives on in the organisation which he played a huge role in shaping. Our heartfelt thoughts and aroha are with Mark's wife Michelle and children.
