My thoughts and prayers are with Mark's family. I interned in 2018 in the ICT department (Auckland Council) and had the privilege to "shadow" him. He was awesome. I've never forgotten how genuine he was and how he treated everyone with the same respect. I'll always appreciate the opportunity and inspiration you've given to young people like me. Rest in Peace Mark.

I had the absolute please to work for Mark at Lion Breweries. We navigated our way through Liquor King and Lion Nathan building out the first online e-commerce solutions.
We played squash, drank at the bar and enjoyed our work.
He was a fantastic boss, mentor and friend. I have watched with great admiration how Mark progressed his career.
To Debs, Tania, Matt and Gary our thoughts are with you. Sincerest condolences from Steve and Janine Wilson

You will be missed Mark. Your humility and care is very genuine. Always would spare your time when someone ask for it despite your busy schedule. I will be forever thankful. --- Abby of Auckland Council

My heartfelt condolences to the family. I had the honour of working with Mark over the last year - during lock-downs. Mark inspired me to walk more, because he walked nearly constantly during our on-line meetings; and he's inspired me to grow some chilli seeds. Mark leaves a big hole, and was one of the best leaders I've met. I'll miss him. RIP Mark - from your Finance Business Partner.

Mark was one of those amazing people that respected everyone no matter who they were or walk of life. An absolute gentleman. Mark´s personality gravitated people towards him just one of the nicest human beings you would meet. Mark was a client of mine and I just enjoyed working with Mark and anytime spent with him. He always spoke about his love for his family who he adored! Mark you will always hold a special place in my heart! I´ll miss the fun games of golf or catching up for a chat..

I remember Mark Gary and Jo from Clarence Cox Cres. We went to Pirimai School together. Mark´s family were into playing squash. I remember games of bull rush with our neighbours Richard Alexander, the Pointon brothers, the Best boys, Frantzetis family. Mark made me an ice cream sandwich. Ice cream between slices of white bread. Yum!

I had the honour of being Mark´s "boss" at Auckland Council. A remarkable, understated and totally honourable man who was an integral part of my Exec Team during many challenging times. They were tough times but also good times as we went through a lot but also achieved a lot. My entire team and I had each other´s backs, we still do years later. That, in my experience, is extremely rare and is something that I continue to value.
Deb, Tania & Matt - I never had the privilege of meeting you. Mark spoke of you all with such pride and love. I can only imagine your pain and loss however I hope that it is some comfort knowing your husband and Dad was so respected and valued by people he spent his time at work with. I simply could not have wished for a better person to be part of my team.
Unfortunately I am unable to be in Auckland on Monday however I will be there in spirit as will my thoughts and prayers.
Too soon Mark, Rest In Peace with much love and laughter surrounding you.
A bien tot my friend.

I got to know Mark over the last 10 years. He was such a great guy to deal with. When I came up to Auckland from Wellington we would catch up for a work discussion but we woudl inevitably end up talking about football as we both shared the hope of a return to the glory days for our team. I always enjoyed my time with Mark. Rest in peace my friend and my sincered condolences to Mark's family at such a dificult time.

He loved his family, I recall him sharing his early morning wakeups stories taking his kids for swimming and their many achievements. We look forward to seeing Mark one day, we have so many fond memories of Mark that we will cherish. Take care Deb, Tania and Matt, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
