SCHMIDT-CECIL, Marie Madeleine (Malia Matalena Tulela) (La). Born 1 September 1927, Safotu, Savai'i, Samoa. Passed away peacefully 9 January 2011, Auckland. Most beloved daughter of the late Paul and the late Lautalie Schmidt, and beloved sister of Ieula and the late Sam Leuii, the late Conrad and Kay Schmidt, the late Motoali'i Emil and the late June Schmidt; the late Werner and Loretta Schmidt, the late Ernest and the late Mausi Schmidt, Theresa and Clement Meredith; Bernadette and Herman Meredith, Lina and Tuiala Schmidt-Uili, Henry and Dianne Schmidt, Charles and Genevieve Schmidt, Emil and the late Alofa Schmidt. Alofaaga tu mau mo oe le uso pele i le agaga. Ia manuia lou malaga ia fa'atasi oe ma le Ali'i e o'o i le fa'avavau. Eternal love our dearest sister. God Bless you on your journey to be with our Lord forever. The Family Service for La will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Kirkbride Rd, Mangere Bridge at 7pm on Thursday, 13th January. Requiem Mass at St. Anthony's on Friday, 14th at 11am followed by interment at Mangere Lawn Cemetery. Grateful thanks and alofa to La's caregivers from Pacific Island Homecare Services Trust. SCHMIDT-CECIL, Marie Madeleine (Malia Matalena Tulela) (La). Married Benheard Cecil in 1956. Most beloved and cherished mother and mother- in-law of Maxine and Bob Duval, Joseph (Nino), the late Conrad (Laki), Samuel, Louise and Jamey, and Dinah and Junior Macdonald; grandmother (Mama) of Rachael, Chante, Devereaux, Julea, Isaac, Sundance, Malena, and Marshel. You were and still are, the brightest shining light in our lives. You are our sunshine, our only sunshine, you made us happy when skies were grey. We hope you know dearest Mama how much we love you. Our sunshine has gone but our love for you will forever burn bright in our hearts and minds. Manuia lou malaga Mama. God Bless you always and may perpetual light shine upon you.
