Marie BARLEY Obituary

BARLEY, Marie Patricia (Nee Kelly). On Wednesday 4 February 2026, at the Parkside Village Care Home and Hospital. Marie, aged 95, passed away surrounded by her family. Loving wife for 30 years to the late Rodney Sholto Smith and for 20 years to the late Ted Barley. Devoted mother to her 4 children: Pauline Lancaster (Geoff), Michael Sholto Smith, Jennifer Schottlander (Mark) and Kathryn Adams (Hooks). Cherished grandmother to her 11 grandchildren: Sophie, Josh, Liza, Anna, Ben, Emma, Joel, Zac, Connor, Natassja, and Jackson. A special place in the hearts also of 18 great-grandchildren. Pre-deceased by her loving siblings Ron Kelly and Babe Heap. Marie is survived by her lifelong friends Beverly Cameron and Janet Mikkelsen. The family are very grateful for the loving care from the beautiful staff at the Parkside Village Care Home & Hospital. A Celebration of Marie's Life will be held at St Andrew's Church, 100 St Andrews Road, Epsom on Monday 9 February at 2pm. Marie had a special "love of all creatures great and small". If desired, a charitable donation toward the wonderful work of the SPCA, would be her request.
