WALLACE, Dr Margaret Joan (née Simpson). At Christchurch, 16 September 2024, in her 88th year. Organist, music educator, formerly HoD Music Aranui High School, former Warden of Salmond Hall and Studholme Hall, University of Otago. Beloved daughter of Isabel Simpson (née Campbell) (deceased) and Ewen Simpson. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Alison and Jan-Bas (Amsterdam), Liz and Richie (Christchurch), Alastair and Jo (Christchurch), Michael and Julanne (Dunedin). Dearly loved grandmother of Miro (Amsterdam), Ewen, Finlay and Theodora (Dunedin), step- grandmother of Tyler (Auckland) and Heather (Edinburgh). Beloved sister and sister-in-law of Helen and Ron Bichan (deceased), Ann (deceased) and Scott Dalziell (deceased), Helen Marsh, Alan and Lorraine Simpson (deceased), Lucy Nanson, Judith and Willy Wallace (deceased), Jean Simpson and Allan Kilner. Beloved aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Margaret's funeral will take place on Monday September 23, 10.30am at St. Ninian's Church, 5 Puriri Street, Riccarton, Christchurch, followed by a private burial. Nga mihi aroha to you and your whanau, Michael. Good memories of Margaret ar CWS where we toiled for many hours processing Christmas Appeal donations. And we also met up with Margaret at many musical events in Christchurch.

My condolences to the family.
I have fond memories of Mrs Wallace as my Form VII 'one person class' ' music teacher at AHS in 1978 and then, in more recent years, of meeting her when she played the piano at Holy Trinity and St Luke's Churches. RIP.
