Murdoch was a great friend and work colleague at Levenes for over 20 years, and was always up for a good chat. He became a great historian of the Levene work family since its closure in 1996, and I enjoyed the regular phone call chats with `Mur“ as we affectionately knew him. God bless you Murdoch, and Condolences to Lois and family.

To Lois and family. My thoughts are with you all. Murdock was a good man and I know Stan, my late husband, trusted him as a good friend. With kind regards, Norma Clark.

One could always find Murdo at the Piobaireachd board at any Highland or Celtic Gathering and his commentary was enlightening. I discovered many years after I first met him that he had been a piper so was surprised when he complimented me on my warm up the day before the Waipu Games one year (we were staying at the same venue) We had usually crossed swords in a meeting room. I learnt many things from Murdoch despite his dour personna. Clan Donald (NZ) has lost a passionate member who will be remembered as firm in his opinion who always had the last word. I will miss the challenge our every meeting became and am grateful for his spirited conversations.

Thinking of you all with your sad loss, I was at school in Portland with Beryl many many years ago. Murdock was a friend of my our family.

Murdock was a very respected friend of Clan McLeod, while visiting him at Papakura and at his home, we had some wonderful discussion regarding clan-ship and anything Scottish and a wee dram occasionally.
He was a great personal friend whom I have huge amount of respect for, Heather and I will miss him dearly, our sincerest condolences go to Lois and their family.
