I met Margaret In the mid-60s when she and my brother Ron were working together in Auckland. I´d pick them both up and we would stop for a sneaky sherry at Margaret´s flat on the way home. She became a close family friend, joining us on many picnics, lunches and days out. What great company Margaret always was - curious, always interested in everything and everyone, so much to talk about, full of fun. Celia joined the circle when she and I moved back to NZ in the early 80s, and reminds me whenever we have avocados with Vegemite on toast that it was Margaret who introduced us to this delicious combination. We will miss her.
The two photos are Margaret with my mother, Mercy, in 1968, and Margaret meeting Celia and me for coffee in Kerikeri in 2019, the last time we saw her.

I first met Margaret, McGinness as she was then, nearly 60 years ago.
We worked together for a few years, and Margaret became a close family friend.
We shared many precious times, and her genuine interest in people and kindness, were a pleasure to all who knew her.
At 89, she had a wonderful happy life, many friends and life experiences. I know she enjoyed the last few years at the Kerikeri village.
Rest Peacefully Margaret, it has been a pleasure to know you.
