Dear Thomas and Jonathan,
I just wanted to offer my condolences to you and your families on the very sad loss of your Mum.
Margaret was clearly a wonderful woman - a loved mother and grandmother, a much respected sportswoman and coach, and a valued city councillor, who gave much to so many people and organisations.
I was talking with Murray my brother last night on the phone and he remembers Margaret fondly from when he competed in inter-regional athletics competitions back in the 1970s and '80s.
She has left a proud legacy of service that you are both continuing.
I will be thinking of you especially this afternoon when you gather to honour and farewell your mother.
Kia kaha, kia maia, kia manawanui.
With best wishes,
Lindsay Cumberpatch

I am so sad to hear of Margaret's passing. Such a loss of a beautifully inspirational lady. Many memories flood back of the times we spent together. She probably never knew how much I looked up to her and how excited I would be, to be in her presence. She was humbly brilliant.
I send my utmost condolences to Ma, Pops, Mark, Gary, Thomas, Jonathan and Lucien and all the Whanau with love....

Margaret - you were so motivated & talented as a PE student, an all-round athlete and an inspirational Netball player, even at Hillcrest High level. You were a great role model and thoroughly deserved your many achievements & accolades!

We met the first day at TColl in Hamilton. I remember going to the courts every lunch time - Margaret had to shoot 100 goals...I had to run and retrieve the ball. We did lots together.. her wedding to Brian was beautiful....even though we lost touch I sooo admire her for all she achieved. RIP
