Margaret D'ATH Obituary

D'ATH, Margaret Laura r.s.c.j. Died peacefully aged 99 years at Baradene Convent, Remuera, Auckland on Monday 5 February 2024. Loved daughter of Ossian and Rewa D'Ath and sister of Molly, Pat, Marie, Bill, Joan, Jean, and Peter. The last one of a great generation, never forgotten by her many nieces and nephews. A valued and respected member of the Society of the Sacred Heart, remembered by her many students and confreres for her brilliant gifts as a teacher. Loving gratitude for the outstanding care of our nurses and carers in recent years. Requiem Mass will be celebrated in the Sophia Chapel, Baradene College, 237 Victoria Avenue, Remuera, Auckland, 10.30am Monday 12 February 2024, followed by interment at the Waikaraka Cemetery, Onehunga. No Vigil will be held.

A specially loved and remembered history and philosophy teacher at Loreto Hall. Thank you for setting me on a journey of learning that has lasted my my lifetime so far, and goes on yet, into my 80s. You always said.. stay in the state of grace and learn Chinese! Xx

So sad to learn of Sister Margaret D'Ath's passing. A wonderful person who really followed her calling in faith. My sincerest prayer-filled condolences to all Sister's relatives, friends, colleagues, and students at Baradene. May she rest in peace.

It was with great sadness that I learnt of the passing of Aunt Peggy. I am sorry that I will not be able to attend the funeral but will be thinking of you all.
She was a great woman and an inspiration to us all.
