I have known Buddy since the 8 th grade at Franklin JR. High. We both played on the 8th and 9th grade football team at Franklin. We continued playing football together through our 3 years at Hillcrest High School. We won the football city championship in or senior year as well as the Bi-District game winning against Fort Worth Arlington Heights. We finished our football season playing Texarkana in the state Quarterfinals. We both were in the same YMCA youth group at Hillcrest. Our group was called the undertaker´s. We both almost wrecked his brothers hot rod he had been building , only a floor board 4 tires, a motor and a ply board dash board with knobs on it. We got going really fast down Lobello Drive and found out it didn´t have any brakes. We finally got it stopped by turning the key or switch off right before we got to the intersection of Netherland Dr. and Lobello Dr. Can´t remember if it had a key or just a switch that turned the motor on or off. We continued see wash other through the years at our football reunions.

Jane´s mom and my mom were cousins, but they grew up together like sisters and she and Buddy were like my first cousins. Buddy was a wonderful person and my view of his life with Jane was the stuff of storybooks.

Our condolences go out to Janey and all the family. I never got to meet Buddy, but I remember that Janey´s parents always expressed a lot of love for him. It sounds like Buddy led a very good and happy life and accomplished many great things. May his memory serve for a blessing.

We loved Buddy so much. He was always a wonderful brother-in-law and just a spectacular person in every way.
