I went to Howick College with Malcolm and his younger sister Christine. Even though it was 40-odd years ago I remember them both fondly, together with their Mum who was the school's sewing teacher. Malcolm was in the school production of Carousel (as were most of the senior school including myself). I remember him being popular, amiable and a little bit shy. No one had a bad word to say about Malcolm. Saddened to hear of his passing. Much love to Adrienne and Christine and all the kids.

Shocked and devastated at this terrible news. I first met Mal in 1984 when I was a purchasing guy at F&P and he a young sales guy at Quikstik. He was warm, funny, quick witted, treated everyone with equal respect (and appropriate levels of ribbing) be it top management or cleaner - he made sales look like fun - he never made a delivery promise he couldn´t keep, and knew his products well and was thoroughly professional. It was his example that started me thinking about sales and I joined Quikstik after he had left for Hally - selling in his old territory "208". It was then I realised how hard he had worked to make everything happen for his customers. I eventually went back to purchasing and we reconnected again as we bought all our labels from Hally. He remained an example of how "good business" is done, was the best sales person I ever met, apart from his many qualities as a mature, responsible and loving man. He will be sorely, sadly and deeply missed by his family most of all, but also his many close friends and in the NZ business community who are lucky enough to have known him.

Absolutely devastated to hear of Malcolm´s untimely passing. Two months older than me, we were both sales reps at Quik Stik. He had the green Corolla and I the blue. He was one of the nicest people I´ve worked with. Consummate professional with a great sense of humour. RIP.

My last memory of my brother-in-law, Malcolm was at Andrew's 60th birthday party at our home on 22 December 2024 - he arrived as usual in a happy space, he keenly attended the task of being the BBQ guy, he mingled and was friendly to everyone there. He also left very happy with Sharon several hours later. and gave me my last ever hug from him. I will miss you Malcolm - enjoy resting in peace. Love Brigid x
