Madeline STERN Obituary

Stern, Madeline Ada. Passed peacefully on 7 February 2026, aged 89 years. Long term resident of the North Shore. Beloved wife of the late Gordon. Much loved mother of Jennifer, and special nana of Ethan. Treasured daughter of the late Ernest and Vera Warnock, loved sister of all her siblings. "Loved by all who knew her". Funeral service will be held at Grange Manor, Davis Funerals, 400 Dominion Road, Mt Eden on Tuesday 10 February at 1.30pm. Minyan prayers at 75 Park Hill Road, Birkenhead at 7.30pm (Tonight). In lieu of flowers donations to North Harbour Hospice would be appreciated.

Our condolences to Ethan, Jennifer and all the Stern family. We will always remember Madeline's kind nature and welcoming smile. We have many fond memories of Madeline and Gordon's stay at our home in British Columbia and staying at their lovely homes in Tutukaka, Takapuna and Devonport. Many wonderful times had with Madeline; first met her in 1989. She was excellent company. Very sorry to hear that she has gone but wish her all the best on her next journey.

I always loved visiting with Madeline during my visits to NZ. She always had good food around the table, and dressed in the best outfits! She will be deeply missed.
