I can´t imagine a world where Lynne isn´t here. I can´t imagine deaf education without her. But I can imagine that many people are heartbroken by her loss, because she cared so much for those who had the privilege of knowing her.

From the moment Lynne interviewed me for my job, I saw her as someone to look up to. I admired & valued her work ethic, knowledge, empathy, kindess, integrity, words of encouragement, and how she always reminded us that our learners should be at the heart of all that we do.

Lynne was an amazing advocate, a great leader and a lovely person. I am so thankful to her for believing in me and for helping me to believe in myself.

My thoughts, prayers & love are with her family & friends as they navigate this difficult time.

I will always be grateful for her incredible support of my late husband Shaun, especially during my time working with Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education. Under her leadership, she warmly embraced and supported the contributions I made alongside Shaun. Her kindness, encouragement, and belief in our work will never be forgotten.

I was so shocked and very sad to be informed on your passing. Lynne you are such a lovely person inside and out. You were a fantastic boss to work for at Papatoetoe High School Deaf Unit. You gave me a chance when I knew nothing about working with deaf students or had any training with NZSL. I will always be grateful to you as I did learn a lot. You will be sorely missed, rest in peace Lynne. Condolences to you family.

So sad to hear the news Lynne. You worked so hard advocating for Deaf and Hard of hearing students, and supporting staff who worked in Deaf Education. You were kind and admirable as a leader. You'll be missed by more people than you expect. My heart especially breaks for your family. I remember you buying us, the 2021 DHH study group, a coffee on our first day, and talking about striving for a work, study, life balance because family is important. I agreed with everything you said that morning and appreciated the encourgaing talk as we embarked on our own journey within Deaf Ed. Thank you.
