I have just discovered she wrote a biography possibly around17 Aug 1960 {ODT}
about my Grandmother Joanna MacKinnon NZs first Plunket nurse.

Im sorry to hear of her passing as it would have been great to talk to her and thank her from her only Grandson.
My condolences to the family.

Lynne was intelligent, outgoing, imaginative, musical, and unafraid to try new things and take up new ideas. Against the odds, she was able to publish useful academic research and break new ground. My condolences to Kate, Fiona and whanau.

I remember happy times, like camping at Maraehako with Kate and Lynne and Toby. And whichever dog they had at the time. The warmth and openness of The Big Blue House. Lynne´s kind and accepting nature. I wish Kate and whanau the peace that comes from knowing they did everything to make Lynne´s last years the best they could be. I won´t be able to be at the memorial but I will be watching and thinking of you all.

In both of my trips to New Zealand Kate and Lynne welcomed us in the Big Blue House. We were blessed by their kindness. Lynne was very sharp in scientific methods and admired by colleagues. Lynne and I enjoyed an episode of Endeavour one evening in the Big Blue House. When that episode finally aired in the US, it brought back fond memories of Lynne and Kate and the Big Blue House. Take care Kate and family.
