Very very sad to hear of Lou's passing. Remembered for the cheeky smile, telling a good yarn, and the devotion to his beautiful wife and kids. Elaine, my dear, a big enormous hug for you Tash, Rachel, Dan and family.

Deepest sympathy to the Keefe family. I will remember Lou as the generous guy with the big smile who always went the extra mile whether it be giving a lift to work while he fixed the car for a wof, or simply making time to chat. A huge loss to the community.

KEEFE, Lou. Helensville Volunteer Fire Brigade notes with great sadness the sudden death of Station Officer Lou Keefe on October 3rd. Station Officer Keefe had served in the New Zealand Fire Service for over 35 years as a Volunteer Fire Fighter. More than 30 years of this service was at the Helensville Station. Lou was a well liked and respected senior member of the Brigade and the community who never ceased to put his service to others above himself. The loss of Lou is being deeply felt by the entire Brigade. The Brigade wishes to extend its condolences to Lou's family. An account has been opened in Lou's name to help support the family in this difficult time. Donations can be made from any ASB Branch using the account number 12-3139-0089867-50. The funeral will be held at 2pm Saturday 6th October at the Helensville War Memorial Hall.

KEEFE, Lou Mate your style, attitude humour and smile for which you were so admired shall be missed so much by the whole of the Helensville Community. You solved their problems with your expertise. You were a Fire Officer for 35 years always looking after others. The loss to your family is incomprehensible, little one can do to soften the enormity of the loss to your beautiful family. Your Maori pakeha blended humour shall be missed. Rest in peace our friend, from all of us not able to express the pain of your loss. Hans Van Duyn and Family.
