Louis BROOKS Obituary
BROOKS, Louis Clyde (Brooksie). On 6th January 2023. At Age 79. Husband of the late Virginia. Husband of the late Janet. Father and Father-in- law of Stephen and Louise (Kaiapoi), and Gregory (Brisbane). Stepdad, Grandad and Great Grandad to many. Eldest son of the late Louis Fred and Phyllis Claire (née Petersen). Brother and brother-in-law of Warwick and Larraine (Tairua), and Bentley (Auckland). There will be a graveside committal for Brooksie on Friday 13th January at the Greytown Lawn Cemetery, State Highway 2, Greytown at 2.00pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Wellington Free Ambulance via www.wfa.org. nz would be appreciated. Special thanks to the staff at the Elderslea Rest home for their care and dedication. Brooksie is a very positive person.
I work in the library and started to know him as a librarian trying to choose books for him started many years ago. It didn't take long and we became friends because he was such a good person with big sense of humor and no non-sense attitude.
Life hasn't treat him as well as can be but he stride a long and never stop reading, never stop learning. I always enjoy my fortnightly chat with him and will terribly miss him. Elderslea will never be the same without Brooksie. So long my friend, look down from above from time to time.
