Emma Novacek Obituary

Emma L. Novacek, 83, of Sutersville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005. She was born Jan. 22, 1922, in Darragh, a daughter of the late Anthony and Maria (Zanotelli) Scarpari. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, in Sutersville, and the Sutersville Senior Citizens Group, where she loved to play bingo and have lunch with her friends. Emma was very devoted to her family and her faith. She had a passion for gardening and watching Steelers football games. She is survived by her loving family; her daughter, Joyce Vozel and her husband, Dick, of Oregon, Ohio; two grandchildren, Lisa Conrad and her husband, Scott, of Maumee, Ohio, and Rich Vozel and wife, Alissa, of Cranberry; four great-grandchildren, Collin, Caitlin, Lauren and Cameron; a sister, Ann Lucas; and a brother, Edward Scarpari. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Novacek, on Aug. 1, 1992; three sisters, Edith Stansak, Helen Robinson and Mary Coffer; and a brother, Frank Scarpari. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the J. WILLIAM McCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., West Newton. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Charles Church, Sutersville, with Monsignor John A. Regoli as celebrant. EVERYONE PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO CHURCH. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Westmoreland Hospice, 532 W.
