To all the Jones Family.
We wish to pass on our sincere condolences our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. Your Mum was a great inspiration to anyone who ever had the opportunity to meet her, she will be sorely missed.
I never forget the times we had with your Mum and Dad during their time when they were both involved in setting up the Porirua Rowing Club – gosh those were the days.
Getting the old rowing shell down from the back of the house in Onepoto, (opposite the existing rowing club), then doing training and then man handling the heavy shell back and storing it, what a feat.
Your Mum and Dad worked tirelessly with fundraising involving concrete drives, paper and bottle drives and sorting the papers at Porirua Mental Hospital not to mention some of the encounters with some of the patients. Your mum was always there behind the scenes to feed us and she kept us in line with her wit!
Relocating the Villa from the Hospital to its present location and the Housie Nights all bring back fond memories.
The hospitality that your Mum extended to everyone was exceptional. She not only looked after her own family but took in all the strays from the rowing club, fed them and made sure they were in a state to drive home, otherwise put them up for the night!
Your mum has very special memories in our hearts and we always looked forward to our yearly Christmas card exchange!
Sadly Lola has now gone but she leaves behind a legacy that will be difficult to match,we feel very privileged to have known her, she was a great lady.

Nanna, no words could ever say enough of the love we have for you. You are one amazing lady who will be so dearly be missed by everyone. I have so many wonderful memories of you. Staying with you on school holidays when I was a child & you bringing us breakfast in bed on a tray,(your kind way of telling us to get up and make a start to our day) & our exciting outings you and poppa use to take us on. Family gatherings every Sunday with roasts and all the trimmings. You hiding money inside our xmas pudding, the endless supply of peanut slabs, lollies & K-bars. And of course, us kids taking turns to comb your hair every night while you done your knitting.
The beautiful knitting you done for our babies, including your amazing baby shawls! The list goes on... Love from Kelly.
RIP Nanna, miss and love you lots!
Love you forever, Kelly Hunia, Perry, Miriam and Jack xxxx

To all the extended family of Lola and the late Alan, Bim and Dorrie Blandford would like to extend our sympathy to you all at the passing of Lola.
We have wonderful memories of happy evenings in Gear Street with you all. Singing around the piano, playing the old ukeleles and partaking of Lolas fine suppers.
As the Sons and Daughters of this wonderful couple you were privileged to be loved completely, and encouraged in all you did.
Condolences and best wishes to you all
