Mrs McIvor was my much loved art teacher at Hill Top School for Girls in the 1960s - she was one of those people who left a significant impression on me because of her genuine care and her passion for her work. It feels like the end of an era to know Lois has passed away, but I shall fondly remember our long walks when we were neighbours in Wood Bay in Titirangi, and also how much I enjoyed sharing her informal home exhibitions of her paintings. We enjoyed many cups of coffee and glasses of wine as we chatted and I valued her personal support and kindness. I shall treasure the small piece of Lois's work that hangs on my living room wall and remember her gentle influence on my life. Rest in peace , Lois.
