ELAINE GIRARD Obituary

GIRARD ELAINE MARGARET (NEE SPATH) 1924-2014 Age 90, of Clinton Township passed away Wednesday, August 6 at the home of her son William. Born in Detroit to the late John Michael Spath and Angeline Kronibus. Beloved wife of the late Robert William Girard, and mother of Mary Ann, Therese (George) Skakun, Robert (Linda) Girard, Jane (Dean) Garrison, Nancy (the late Donald) Keller, the late Michael (Patricia) Girard, William (Jill) Girard, and Carol (Michael) Upchurch. Grandmother of Kimberly, Maria, Christina, Jonathan, David Paul, David Charles, Scott, Megan, Kaitlyn, and Michael. Elaine is also survived by her brother John "Jack" Spath, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass for Elaine will be said at St. Michael Catholic Community, 40501 Hayes Rd., in Sterling Heights, Saturday, August 9, at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will be at Resurrection Funeral Home at 40800 Hayes Rd., Clinton Twp., Friday, August 8, from 3 - 8 p.m. Prayer Service 7 p.m. Friday. Elaine was a wonderful volunteer at St. Michael Catholic Community. She helped with Salvation Army cooking and serving, with our Chili Fest decorating and serving, and with our MCREST homeless program. As a member of Christian Service, she was always willing and happy to help. I will miss her greatly. Joann Zaleski
