Mary M. Bretzel, 94, of Collinsburg, died Saturday, April 9, 2011, in Hempfield Manor, near Greensburg. She was born June 3, 1916, in Herminie, a daughter of the late Valentine and Meri Ann (Bozic) Urbas. She was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in West Newton. She is survived by two daughters, Marcia O'Masta and husband, Joseph, of West Newton, and Mary Ann Honick and husband, William, of Shelocta; three sons, James E. Bretzel and wife, Betty, of West Newton, Carl D. Bretzel and Donald E. Bretzel, both of Collinsburg; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Bretzel, in 1977; a son, Robert C. Bretzel; and a number of sisters and brothers. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the J. WILLIAM McCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., 901 Vine St., West Newton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. John T. Sweeney as celebrant. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
