Tamahori, Lee. Born 22 April 1950, died peacefully on 7 November 2025. Son of Piripi and Patricia. Long time love of Justine. Beloved brother of Philip, Wayne, Renaye and Glenn. Father of Sam, Max, Meka and Tané. Koroua of Cora Lee and pepi on the way. His legacy endures in his whānau, his mokopuna, every filmmaker he inspired, every boundary he broke, and every story he told with his genius eye and honest heart. A charismatic leader and fierce creative, Lee championed Māori talent both on and off screen. Moe mai rā e te rangatira.
