SPEEDY, Lawrence Tristram Lloyd. (Service no 274256 Gunner K Troop Light Anti-aircraft Battery, WW2) On July 29th, 2017 (peacefully) aged 95 years. Dearly loved husband for 64 years of Shirley. Loving father and father-in-law of Allan and Jan Speedy, Leonie and Timothy Turner and Charles and Caroline Speedy, loved & respected grandfather of Elizabeth and Barnaby Smith, James and Nicole Turner and Michael and Alyssa Turner, Charlotte and William Speedy and Tristram Speedy and cherished Papa of Olivia and Penelope Smith. A celebration of Lloyd's life will be held on Wednesday 2 August at 1pm at the North Shore Memorial Park Chapel, 235 Schnapper Rock Road, Albany, followed by burial in the Returned Services section.

Dear Shirley, Allan, Leonie, Charles, Bobbie, Squire and family,

Your very dear Lloyd was a loving husband, father, brother, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather just an all around GREAT man to so many. He charmed us all.

Thinking about Lloyd brings a smile to our face because he was always smiling when enjoying precious times with his beloved family. We love hearing Leonie's stories about growing up and Shirley talking about your wonderful life together, while Lloyd would beam with pride. He will be greatly missed by so many.

My good friend from San Francisco, Maria Waterman was with me when we heard the sad news of Lloyd's passing and she reminisced about meeting him at Nicole and James' wedding. She told him he reminded her of Fred Astaire and he kicked up his heels breaking into the Blue Skies tune:
Blue skies smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies do I see
Let's look up to the blue skies remembering such good times, as Lloyd smiles down upon you.

Lloyd Speedy was my girlfriend Leonie's kind father whom I will best remember as I knew him when Leonie and I were teenagers. He was always welcoming and held in high regard by his family. I was fortunate to have enjoyed staying at their home with an amazing view many times and was always provided with great hospitality. Love and warm thoughts to you all, especially Mrs Speedy.Margot Burton nee Ashworth.

Twin brother of Bobbie Graham, brother of the late Jo Matthews, and brother and business partner for 70 years, of Squire Speedy.
