Lawrence COGLE Obituary

COGLE, Lawrence Barry. Passed away peacefully at Tranquility Bay Rest Home, on 17th October 2024; aged 93 years. Loved father of Debra, Dean (deceased) and Michele. Treasured Pop of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cherished partner of Kay Barton. Friend of Linda, Danny, Christopher, Michael and their families. In accordance with the family's wishes a private cremation has taken place but will be followed in January by a celebration of Barry's life. All communications to the Cogle Family, c/- P.O. Box 8043, Kensington, Whangarei 0145.

Dear Barry - a real character and such a kind and generous person. My memories will be of the naughty, smiling face, distinctive voice and laugh and our really fun times together, on an off the golf course. Condolences on your loss to Kay and all the family

So many lovely memories, Barry. Paula remembers well the day she and you won the Pairs Championship at North Shore Golf Club and the ensuing celebration with friends at Luciano's Italian Restaurant in Birkenhead. There was so much laughter and clinking of glasses that we were asked by Luciano to "kindly tone it down" ! Guess we were a bit loud !! Another special memory of you was the time when you lost control of your new battery operated trundler and seeing you chasing it down the 10th fairway (unsuccessfully) to have it go flying into the rather large lake at the bottom. None of watching on could avoid laughing at that one !
We have so valued your friendships over the years and you will be sadly missed.
Rest in peace, Barry.
