PERERA, Kuruwa Kankanamage Chandrapala (Chandra/Chakka). A proud Civil Engineering graduate of University of Peradeniya, passed away peacefully on Thursday October 25th, 2018 after a brief illness at Auckland General Hospital. Chakka is survived by his beloved wife Indranie of 44 years, daughters Menaka (USA), Kanchana (USA), sons-in-law Shin (USA), Jonathan (USA) and loving grandchildren Ashlyn, Madison and Adrian. Chakka is also survived by his loving sister, Kusuma Weerasinghe and niece, Kumari, nephew, Bimal and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Carolyne Perera and parents-in law G. W. Sirisena and Girlene de Silva. Chakka was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and a good friend who saw the best in everyone. At the time of his demise, Chandra was working at New Zealand Transportation Agency as a Senior Project Manager. Prior to that, he worked for over three decades for many countries in the African continent making life better for countless people, following his civil engineering career in Sri Lanka. Chandra loved to spend time with the family, play golf, listen to Sinhalese music, watch movies and was always there to help relatives and friends with impartiality rooted in him from his deep faith in Buddhism. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 29th, from 4pm - 6pm at Morrison Funeral Home, 220 Universal Drive Henderson, Auckland, New Zealand. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday 31st October 2018 at 3:00 pm at the above address. A special thank you to all our friends and family for the outpouring support and prayers.
