Dear Shelley, it's been many years since we have caught up (back in 2001) and I have never met Katie (but hopefully will do one of these days). Over the years since 2001, I caught up with Kevin a number of times but not enough. I suppose that's what happens when you live in different countries. Whenever we did catch up it was as if we had just seen each other the previous week. A few times we caught up over the years because there would be a deal that I would be working on in New Zealand and I would say to whoever I was working with... fantastic the best lawyer I have ever worked with is in New Zealand...commercial, funny, amazingly smart and understated... that was Kevin. But even though he had a love for law and business it was always clear that his first priority and greatest love was you two (he would tell tales of the horse meets... or whatever they are called) when we would meet over the years. I also still tell everyone the story of when Kevin and I worked on our first transaction together the US lawyer on the other side of the transaction had the biggest comb-over we had ever seen. The challenge Kevin and I set ourselves was to see who could be the first to get the words comb over into the negotiation discussion. Kevin of course won, with the offer that the US lawyer should comb over to Simpson Grierson's offices to finalise the transaction. That's sums him up funny, smart and the best guy. Although I didn't see him much over the years I miss him very much now. My love goes to you and Katie, love Chris Tait xx

My deepest and heartfelt condolences to Kevin Jaffe's immediate and extended family, wife and daughter, brothers and sisters, nieces' and nephews, friends and associates. I am so very saddened to learn of this news. May Kevin rest in eternal peace and be fondly remembered for so many of his outstanding qualities inclusive of his incredible intelligence, open mindedness and approachable nature; his sharp wit and sense of humour, enthusiasm and general zest for life, all wrapped up and delivered with such a humble demeanor. Taken prematurely indeed, you will not be forgotten. RIP Kevin.
