Dear Brendan and Katrina,
I shed tears when I learned of your Dad's passing. What a fine fellow.
His total love and devotion to your lovely Mum was an over riding mark of his character and while the 117 day hiatus will have left you all sadly bereft and heart-broken it has reunited these beautiful 'Two Island Swans' as tenor John McDermott so endearingly expressed in his sorrowful song. With Tony standing beside them at St Peter's threshold it will indeed be a glad reunion.
Your Dad was a huge support to me many years ago when I was being bullied by a faction of the heirarchy. At his high rank it certainly wasn't politic for him to do so but that was the quiet, courgeous nature of your Dad, he was brimful of kindness, compassion and loyalty, having no time for humbug or trivia. Not big in stature he towered over most of his peers for his strength of character, prospiscience and clear judgement - he could see the wood and the trees!
As straight as a die and as sharp as a tack he was a credit to his oath and the public he served with distinction.
My heartfelt condolences to both of you and every member of your family on the sad loss of a loving family man and dedicated police officer. I feel your pain.
Rest now in your own eternal peace Kevin John Holland, pioneer international Peace Keeper, gentleman, mentor, friend.
With love and respect.

Dear Katrina, Brendan and families.
Our very deepest sympathies on the loss of your father. We have many fond memories of Kevin, and our parents greatly enjoyed all their time together. A long life well lived, but as you said at the graveside, now he is reunited with Madeleine.
With much love from Meredith Osten, Chris Holland, and our families.

Dear Katrina, Brendan and your families
I am sorry I could not be with you all yesterday to say farewell to your lovely Dad who was so much part of our lives here in Wellington when we were growing up.
Kevin was a kind and gentle uncle who always took interest in all that we were doing. His faith, his work, and the lovely Dad and husband he was - inspired us all very much.
God Bless
Jacinta and family.

So very sad to hear of the passing of Kevin. On behalf of myself , my late wife Beryl, and all the family, our sincere condolences. Kevin was bestman at our wedding and shared with Madelein events and celebrations with the family.
Always a gentleman, very sincere and a pleasure to be with. Rest in Peace Kevin - Terry Cullen and family.
