Kevin, an awesome colleague and mentor. Clever and willing to share knowledge - so appreciated. So pleased he got to have some awesome years in his dream place to live, and so so sorry all that fun has been cut short. Much love and prayers to all family and friends.

I grew up next to the Chapman family in Plympton St New Plymouth back in the 1950s until we moved away in 1963. I did see Kevin at some stage when I would return home. We shared many childhood times together playing together with his twin sister Colleen and older brother Pat, they were happy days back then. I recall the time Kevin was on a rope swing that was down in the bush behind our homes, he swung out and the rope broke with him falling onto an old stump that had spikes of wood facing upwards. I ran for help telling his mum and dad that Kevin had a cut on his face. I seemed that each summer when we would get ready to go to the local baths something would happen and Kevin would have had an injury the next being slicing his hand on an empty sardine can. I was glad to have had a great friend in Kevin although we did not see one another again when we grew up. RIP child hood friend my your journey be a great one

Sad to hear this news. I worked closely with Kevin for many years, from Mt Eden rotary/step through to being a part of his OSC (Operations Support Centre) team. Kevin never suffered fools and wasn't afraid to voice his opinion to management for better conditions and remuneration. His logic/software skills were such that he would often "improve" (re-compile) enterprise programs he deemed inferior. Kevin taught me so much, for which I'm forever grateful. R.I.P. Kevin.

I also worked with Kevin and MOD1 & MOD2 when I was a trainee in the late 70's. A hard man to please, what you did had to be right but he was also the first to say good job when you did get it right. RIP Kevin.

This is indeed sad news, I also worked with Kevin on the first of the NEAX rollouts, late 80's, and then in EAS. He was an awesome person, very knowledgeable and great to work with. He helped me on many occasions. R.I.P Kevin.
